Print out the words and the card to assemble for Dad. I Love You to Pieces.

This card utilizes two printable pages. One is the basic card which when folded has a heart and ‘to pieces!’ written on it. The second printout is for the words, Dad, I, Love, You. If you are using this Father’s Day Card for a classroom of a group, try printing out the words on different colors of printer paper so that children can mix and match the individual words for a colorful card for dad.

  • Cardstock paper for the card – white works well

  • PDF printout for I Love Your to pieces card
  • PDF printout for I Love Your to pieces words

Creating the Love You to Pieces Card

Start by selecting and printing out the I Love Your to pieces card. I recommend using cardstock paper since children will be gluing lots of little papers to the card. We all know how difficult it is to keep younger children from using excessive amounts of glue 🙂

Fold the card in half so that the heart is on the inside.

Print out the I Love Your to pieces words PDF page. Select a color of paper other than what was used for the card. If you are doing this with a group, the children can mix up the words for a more colorful card. Cut out the boxes that contain the words and tear off small pieces from around the words I, Love and You’.

Now, it’s time to bring out the glue! Glue the word Dad to the front of the card. Then randomly attach some of the torn pieces of paper around the rectangle.

On the left inside page, glue the papers for I, Love and You. Use the rest of the paper scraps to fill in the printed heart.

To finish the card, children can either color in the outlined letters or trace the letters and sign their name.
